Thank you to everyone for the fantastic comments you have left me. I read each one more than once, I love reading them. I'm so flattered and thrilled. Thanks to Juls for her talent and gorgeous beads. We have made a great connection and will continue working with each other more in the future! And thanks to Lori for hosting this fabulous Bead Soup Party and Bead Swap! This was the largest and most successful blog event I've ever had the pleasure of being apart of. I think I managed to visit all 80+ of you that participated. I'm in awe of the talent out there. Just incredible and inspiring! Thank you!

Bead Soup Jewelry Reveal!

Well, it's here! Bead Soup Party Reveal Day! The anticipation as been high! If you're just tuning in, check out my previous post or click on the Bead Soup Party picture above to see where this all started. I received my bead soup from Juls. I really loved working with her beautiful lampwork beads. Check out her Shop to see what I mean. The beads are so gorgeous themselves but not only that, the lampwork she sent me complemented my own ceramic beads and components so well! I was thrilled to work with everything.  I used EVERY SINGLE BEAD AND FINDING Juls sent me and not much else! Yes, I'm actually proud of that. Yep, that's right, I even used those tiny glass seed bead spacers that were in between, separating her lampwork! LOL! What?....No, I'm not cheap, that's just the way it work out. :) In all seriousness, the mix that Juls sent was so perfect, there really wasn't a need to leave anything out or even add much. Everything blended so well, I could make one cohesive necklace and the earrings are just a bonus! I would definitely have to put this in the category of: "The beads showed up and the jewelry made itself" category.
My Bead Soup from Juls

'Earth & Sky' Necklace and Earrings Set

I call this jewelry set 'Earth and Sky'. Juls beads and color scheme reminds me of the South Western landscape. Brown, red earth and bright blue sky.

As soon as I saw Juls stunning focal bead, I knew I wanted to create a longer style necklace with a tassle of charms and beads dangling from the focal. Her focal bead turned vertical like this, even reminds me of a landscape, too. Earth below and sky above. I carried this theme idea throughout the necklace. The dark brown linen cord, the red jasper beads and my own porcelain clay beads representing the "earth" element. The bright blue beads, the clear, silver-lined seed beads, and the sterling silver feather and dragonfly charms representing the "sky" element.

Clasp detail:

Simple matching earrings:
My porcelain 'feather' (or 'leaf'!) links, blue beads from the soup mix and handmade sterling silver ear wires with wood bead accent.
You can find porcelain pieces like these 'feather' links in my shop.

That concludes my show and tell for the day! You'll have to check out Juls blog to see the beads I sent her in the swap and to see her finished piece! Special thanks to Lori Anderson for putting this great event together. I've had so much fun participating in her Bead Soup Party and bead swap. Be sure to check out her blog for links to all the participating blogs! You will not believe the talent in this group. There are so many outstanding bead artists, jewelry-makers and beaders participating in this event, it's kind of mind-boggling! Well, I'm off to visit everyone! Thanks for stopping by today and have fun! :)

Valentine's Day GIVEAWAY!!!

Love Is The Key Crystal Necklace
by Erin Siegel

It's February and I'm starting to get into the spirit of L.O.V.E! I made the above necklace just in time for Valentine's Day! I received these beautiful swarovski crystals from Artbeads.com. I'm not usually much of a crystal girl, but thought I'd give them a try. I'm so glad I stepped out of my comfort zone a little! These Siam red crystals and Alabaster white crystals here, are so perfect in this design! I love the romantic, vintage feel that the crystal brings. The red, translucent crystal beads add color and sparkle, while the white, opaque crystal beads complement my white porcelain pendant. For the necklace, I hand knotted the crystals along a double strand of waxed linen cord, in an asymmetrical pattern.

For the centerpiece, I pair my handmade Love Heart Porcelain Pendant with a small vintage key, tied on along with a red crystal accent.

For the back of the necklace, I created a bead and loop closure. I knotted a cluster of red crystals together to form a "beaded bead" of sorts on one side and a knotted loop for the other side.

I really LOVE how my special Valentine's project turned out and now, I'm giving away my lovely creation! I hope you like it just as much because, I made this necklace especially for YOU.
I HEART all of you
, my friends, my readers and my customers. And I most certainly L.O.V.E. your comments! As a THANK YOU, I'm giving away this necklace to one of you.

So please, bring on the love, leave me a comment and you might be wearing this necklace on Valentine's Day! Yay! :)

If you would like to win my Love Is The Key Crystal Necklace, please leave me a comment on this post by Sunday, February 7th 2010. I encourage you to spread the love and tell your friends, but it's not necessary. Winner will be chosen at random on Monday, February 8th 2010.

Thank you, Good Luck and Love ya! XOXO
