More New Work: Ocean Collection

Here are a few more new designs in porcelain clay. These are again unfired greenware pieces that I have been working on this week. This is the start of my new Ocean Collection in Porcelain. I've been thinking about developing this for about a year now. I love the sea. I've always been inspired by the beach and the ocean. I only live about 10 miles from the coast. I'm going to start incorporating these oceanic themes into my work. I might leave some of these as unglazed pure white porcelain. Stay tuned to see how these get finished!

Thank you, everyone for your input! Keep them coming, please. It really helps me to decide. I will try to work on all the designs, eventually! For now, I've chosen the medallion. I'm working on the Owl Medallion design as we speak! These are so fun and cute!

I'm working in my studio today finally! I'm having so much fun working on some new designs! I love my leaves but, I need to work on some new things. Here's some I worked on yesterday. I didn't think I could do Owls, but I CAN do Owls! These are porcelain in the greenware state, which means they have not been fired yet. I'm so excited, but I need your help to decide what design or designs to go forward with! These pics aren't the best, but I think you'll be able to get the idea. Natural Perfection

Well, it's officially Springtime and it's time to think organically! I know my talented friend Lisa of Lucid Moon Studio is! She made this stunning necklace featuring my handmade porcelain Bodhi Leaf Pendant and Leaf Charms! It's the perfect piece for the season! You can read more about the necklace on her blog.

Naturally perfect. That is what I think of when I look at this necklace. It's organic, free, flowing and designed to perfection! Just like nature it's self. I love how it's organic yet has a modern, updated feel to it. I am in love with this necklace! The design just flows so beautifully. The repeating of the coin stones and the brass circle links create such a unifying flow and keep your eye moving around the piece, while the leaf pendant and leaf charms create points of interest-A mastery of design!

Happy Spring! I'm starting to feel the spring fever kicking in and these flower bracelets by Lorelei are really getting me going! 'Erin-Go-Bragh!'

Top of the mornin' to ya! As you may have guessed it, with a name like Erin, I'm Irish! My name actually does mean 'Ireland' in Gaelic. As in the Gaelic phase 'Erin-Go-Bragh' translates to "Ireland Forever"! I hope and wish on a four leaf clover, to visit the homeland my ancestors hailed from. Until then, I will settle for celebrating St. Patrick's Day here at home in the States with some Irish Soda Bread and a Corned Beef and Cabbage dinner! Yum! Even though I've never been to Ireland, I feel as though I may have lived there in a past life as a woodland faerie or nature spirit! Come to think of it, that would actually explain a lot about me. My obsession with leaves for one! LOL! :DSpeaking of leaves, to celebrate the lush, green landscape of the 'Emerald Isle', I'm giving away a set of my Green Leaf Charms! Ceramic Leaf Charms!!!

The kiln as been unloaded and I have new ceramic leaf charms, finally! Just in time for Spring! You can find these in my shop now. The picture above is a sampling set. The leaf charms come in four glaze color options: Forest, Stone, Green and Sand. I strayed from my usual porcelain clay, these are in a white stoneware clay. My usual glazes look a little more muted on the stoneware. I think I really like it! Nice natural colors you might find in nature, so it suites these leaves well!

Forest Glen Necklace

A few new necklace designs in my usual "knotty" ways. (Haha! lol.) Err... if you knew me personally, you would get the irony in that. Anyhoo, I made these two versions featuring my forest leaf pendant. It's hard to tell in the pictures, but the glaze on the leaf pendant is a deep, forest green. I can't decide which one of these necklaces I like (if any). I find it's difficult to be objective about by own work. So, I need your help! Please tell me what you think of these? Which one do you like better? I tried to be a little more eclectic than I usually am with my designs by beading in a random, asymmetrical pattern. I wanted the necklace to feel organic. I love the beads and stones in these necklaces. Unakite, Kambaba Jasper, Tree Agate and wood beads.
